Hi there, I’m John.
A communicator on an endless endeavor to perfect a growing and demanding craft, a proud Floridian whose passions reach beyond the scope of the Sunshine State alone and a professional with a work ethic and background that go unmatched.
My name is John and throughout my life, I’ve been defined by my ability to connect with people. I see communication as a way to form a relationship with somebody and not just sell a talking point. Through my experience I’ve discovered what people are truthfully and constantly searching for – but more on that later.
I was born, raised and educated through the Greater Tampa Bay system which always gave me a unique sense of community growing up – and an appreciation for the year-round heat. While my roots lie in this central Floridian enclave, I’ve been blessed with the desire and ability to explore, travel and learn about the diverse world we call home.
I’ve always been motivated and inspired by the English language, reading and writing and reading some more as I grew into my interests. As someone who treasures the artform, I’ve been fortunate enough to make a career out of something that I love, applying those skills gained through study into modern 21st century communication practices.
My true love is in writing – articles, blog posts, press releases, email blasts, tweets, Yelp reviews, short stories, novels, Instagram captions, etc. Being able to properly convey a message is something that I take great pride and interest in, and doing it in a way that truly makes a difference drives me.
I’ve worked as a public relations coordinator, a social media strategist, a freelance copywriter, and a marketing specialist (with brief stints as both a dance instructor and junior sommelier). Through my constant desire to learn and my inability to settle for less, I’ve rounded a contemporary perspective that’s helped me succeed in all aspects of my work.
My interests take shape in many things but mostly stem from fruits of passion: music, paintings, good literature, theatre (with an ‘-re’), culture, language, food and drinks, travel, health and wellbeing, beauty, performance, pop culture and yes, politics even.
I am grateful for this insatiable desire to learn and find meaning in what’s new just as I invite you to do the same in my site here. It is my sincere hope that these works reflect upon my capabilities, strengths and potential as I welcome you into my unique world.
